If you're not in a hurry and you need to program a new master key this is a great option IMO. The reset took 15 minutes and the immobilizer accepted my new key from the dealer as the new master key.
I input all the info on the website and the code was accepted by the techstream software. I rolled the dice with the shady-looking website and paid $27 for 5 tokens (they don't sell just one) and IT WORKED!
So.I found a website that calculates the reset code for you. This left me with having to go to the stealership to have this done and I'm sure they'd charge me a fortune for it. I've read all about people having to get a new ECU when you lose all the master keys but the techstream software allows you to program a new master key if you have the right techstream membership to take the VIN and seed number to generate a 6 digit passcode. I have the OBDII to USB cable and the techstream software but I was unable to program a new key the dealer cut for me ($40) because I had no master. So I got a new-to-me 2003 V8 SR5 in awesome shape for only $6K! The bad news is the previous owner did not have a master key for the truck.
